i do not have luck with door handles.

my mini van has 2 missing door handles. now my 93 s-10 is have door troubles. the drivers side door will not unlock with the key. the key wont turn. sometimes it wont close well either but i am led to believe that its the striker bolt. that comes loose every couple of days. the passenger side wont close all the way unless slammed shut extremely hard. i cant figure what would be the cause of this because the striker bolt is in there solid. any guesses?

Could be the hinge pins and bushings wore and causing your doors to drop when open, check the hinge pins and bushings for wear by opening your door and lifting it while watching for play at the hinge pin area..

More than likely it's the pins and bushings.

Re: i do not have luck with door handles.

Your drivers door won't lock with the key because the pins in the lock are wearing out, and probably your keys too.

I spent about 50 bux canadian getting both of mine re-built and it was well worth the money. Plus I got 2 new keys.

If you call around you can probably beat that price. I did think that he charged me too much, but his shop was convient.

Re: i do not have luck with door handles.

On the s-10, look at the front body mounts (where the fender and door meet) The perch on the under-body that the body mount sits on like to rot out & causes the door to drop down making them hard to close. Over the summer I replaced both R/L sides on a 92 s-10 Blazer that were rotted to hell along with the rocker panel. The salt takes a toll on the cars up here in New England.

Re: i do not have luck with door handles.

yea the salt is pretty gross here, i havent gone out to look yet but my doors are sagging like i have no slack on them. if you try to move the door up and down you end up trying to move the truck. thanks for the input im gonna go check into it now.
