Taking a poll

I taking a poll. How many Envoy owners have had to replace the load leveling suspension air compressor? Was it under warranty?

We just had to have the compressor for the load leveling suspension replaced on our 2002 Envoy. This is the second time in aproximately 45000 miles it has had to be replaced. The first time was under warranty, unfortunately this time we had to pay.

I appreciate any and all input.

Thanks!

Re: Taking a poll

sorry to hear that, it seems to me that they did not do a great job the first repair and now it is being left up to you. I haven't experienced this however I am going thru my own dilemma myself. My advise is to you is to go pitbull on them and do not back down. It is obviosly a design flaw that they do not want to admit

Re: Taking a poll

I got the service history from my GMC dealer when I bought my 2002 Envoy. At 15,000 miles the AutoRide compressor was replaced under warranty by the dealer.

I am kinda concerned about the frequency it kicks on though. Seems to be on excessively.... it will kick on when I first start it in the morning. By the time I make it to the first stop sign (less than a mile) its on again. When I pull into my work driveway, it kicks on. Although it doesnt kick on for long (anywhere from 2-15 seconds) Im thinking its kinda excessive. The height of my rear end (of the truck!) is normal. Does this sound normal, the compressor kicking on that much?

Re: Taking a poll

sounds like there is a leak, someplace in the lines. it shouldnt need to kick on so often. take a windex bottle put a 1/2 inch of dish deturgent in it and then fill the rest of the bottle with water, slowly fill so its not all bubles. then spray any connection on the shocks and compressor and anywhere in between that you can get at.
they should have checked for leaks when they fixed it the first time. if there is a leak it will buble up.
