Looking at a '99 328i...

...the guys' asking 25K for it. It's got 45k miles on it...it's alpine white, sport pkg., h-k stereo system, tan leather interior.

The asking price seems a bit low. but I never look a gift horse in the mouth...plus, I'm going to check it out (or have it checked thoroughly) before I commit.

I'm really looking to get into a Bimmer, and this one might be my ticket...I won't be able to look at it for a week or so, but wish me luck.

Any known issues with this year/model, or things to look for in particular?

Thanks in advance.

I've been lurking here for a couple of weeks...hopefully, soon I can become a contributing member w/ a cool Bimmer.

Later-

I got a 96 328is 2 years ago for 18.5k (again a very low price, it was slightly below wholesale value when i got it). The only thing that was wrong with it was it needed new pads and rotors all the way around and it was just about time to replace the O2 sensors on it.... total bill was a little over a grand. And I haven't had a second worth of problems with it since. Last time I took it to the mechanic for a oil change he looked the car over and said it was in perfect condition. Good luck with your purchase.

Don't buy it. You'll be sorry. Major problems, just sold mine. It was a 99328i with navigation, premium package, had only 27k miles but still had some issues. I'm glad to be out from under it.

I guess he probably made up his mind in the last two months.

i have a 97 328is got it a year a go with 60k on it for $22k. I love the car. The only problem is that the guy before me was fat so i had to replace the seat cushions and the driver seat creeks a little. I say get it.
