tiberon vs. 320d

Finally a race, it was about time

When i came back from an exam that i did today i decided to take the expressway (2 lane each) home to release the stress a bit. The weather was nice with some sunshine coming through white clouds. The kind of weather that gives you the ultimate feeling of happiness when yr on yr way too freedom.

Ahum.

I was cruising for already half an hour when i hit a red light with four cars already sitting there waiting. Now guess who was the first car, indeed, the Tiberon. It was the non GT with a bout 135 bhp i guess? The colour was red but with mat silvern stickers in a pattern of flames on the side. . When it's certainly one combo that doesn't work propourly on a car it's silvergrey with red. For the rest the car was stock, no nice rims or whatsoever.

When i pull up next to him and line up his buddy spots me, he tells the driver something and they both look at my car, then at me. I was going to ask if he wanted to race but i could see on his face that he already decided to do that.
I revved a little, up too 2500Rrpms. He revved back way higher probably thinking that was all i got cause now he had a huge smile on his face, no kidding. Then he spun his tires and was the first that went out of the blocks, i was like o shit (not because of the tiberon but because i wasn't paying attention to the lights). I missed green
I hammered the pedal to the metal with one car behind him. Immediatly I made his lead almost even 'cause when i shifted to second we came side by side.
I pull a car and a half on the Hyundai in second and a couple more in third. And then when i was like at 4th with a speed of 160 km/h he was a lot behind. I decided to release the gaspedal and waited to let them do the usual fly by, but it didn't came .

i hit another light now in the right lane and after a couple of seconds they came left of me. GREEN. I went normal of the line and so did the tiberon. In fact he was driving real slow, so slow that all the other cars behind me passed him too, and they all did it in the right lane.

Either he was shocked because he thought his car was way faster and was now ashamed cause he maybe promised his buddy to "smoke" me or he just didn't want to be emberassed again.

Good times

Very nice kill. I bet he thought those flame stickers add like, 30hp a piece. I love it when after you beat someone, they wont drive next to you.

Blech, those new Tibs are garbage. 138 bhp w/ 3000 lbs = too slow. Good kill, btw.

I had a tibi get the jump on me too, I was just comming up to the red light with my foot on the brake about to line up when it turned green and the tibi launched, I was caught by surprise and could not shift it to 1st cause it locked me out so I went to second and hammered it, even with a 2 car lead I still matched him before the end of the block and then smoked him, yeah the 4 cyl tibis are pushovers!
nice kill bro, way to put em in thier place.

yeah the 4 banger tibs are like non turbo DSMs, the drivers think its faster than it is. But the tib GT is like a 15.8 1/4 mine. I mean its not that bad... I'd still beat one

only a 15.8? i thought it would be like 15.4 with a good driver.. doesnt almost have the same hp as the spec-v? or is it cuz they are slow..
someone told me that he seen a maxima like mine beat a gt by only a car... i think i would kill a tib gt a lil bit more than that if it does a 15.8

maxima 3500lbs 265 hp
tib gt 3000lbs 175 hp

Well even with a good driver the best that little 2.7 V6 could achieve would be like 15.5, My friend has one. we drove to HIN one night and he was at point going between 90 and 110mph the whole way. later he asked me "was I driving too fast for you? you want me to slow down on the way back?"
on the way back I let my wife drive and she took it up to like 130mph (and chickened out) after 115 I lost sight of the guy. she took him from a stop too but it was such a lame race that I just didnt want to post about it (also I had previously posted me beating a different Tibi)
so to sum it up.
Tiburon = throw it back into the ocean!

Re: tiberon vs. 320d

Don't know about the 03-04 I4 Tibs, but 97-01 Tibs can hit mid 15s with just intake and a good driver, low 16s with an avg driver. But a few guys I know from another site are experimenting with swapping a 1.8l Tib ECU into a 2.0l Tib. So far the butt dynos have shown that the 2.0 Tib pulls very hard from 4k RPM up. We're still waiting for a real dyno. I'm more concerned about whether this mod will cause detonation or premature wear on the engine.

Anyways, that was more for Underground_Killah's benefit. Something your girl might wanna look into man.
