Exhaust tips for 2001 P11

anyone try cutting the tip of the stock exhaust bores to put on aftermarket stainless ones? is it any hard to do? just need a hacksaw and cut away?

probably need a longer hanger or pull the stock hangers so that the bores clear the rear valance.

please let me know if anyone has tried this. thanx a bunch!

Are you meaning a bigger outlet ?

My view is that nothing looks as silly as having a little 1-1/2 inch outlet at the muffler and seeing it opening out to a 3 or 4 inch outlet tip.
Seen the car dealers doing it and when you look inside the 3" tip you can still see the smaller outlet.

Do it right and get a muffler with the size you want.

If you are only meaning putting a nice stainless one of the same or similar size you can buy after market tips which just slip over the original one and just do up wih a screw driver.

I have a 2000 with the stock muffler. As many of you know (well, the 2000 owners anyway), its two tubes, slanted down. They are also close to each other. Can I put on tip on that without it looking down? Any ideas?

i was thinking about doing the same thing to my car, cause i'm not all into making a lot of exhaust noise, i just want mine to look a lot nicer than stock...

i'm pretty sure you can cut it and put some nicer tips on, i was thinking a stock maxima se tip or maybe some AMG looking tips, i don;t know

yeh, that stock tip bending downwards reminds me of taurus's so wanna get aftermarket tips. naw, not trying to rice it down by putting a 10inch bore over the 2 outlets. hahaha.

I was looking at ones that look like Remus exhaust...kinda rounded off square looking tips, stainless. I don't want a noisy exhaust either as I have a AT and you guys heard what a loud note from AT cars, right? sounds like someone took a dump. bwaaabrbooohhh. not that I'm saying that's bad or anything. hahaha. yah right!

guess I'll have to see what sizes are available first.

thanx guys.
