Angry starter removal

Hi, i have a 1992 Crown Vic. Just recently i had the starter detonate itself upon startup. late last night i figured i would just yank it out and pick up a new one today, i pulled the first bolt, no problem, the next one is almost imposible to get to with a normal sized socket wrench.not only that but i have found that there may be another bolt on the oposite side that is out of veiw. if that is true then that would be a real pain to get at. if there is anyone who has done this i would apreciate it if they could give me some tips on how to get to these bolts out without going to a garage. Thanks!

Re: starter removal

I jack the vehicle up, support on good safe stands, lay underneath with my feet running under the driver's door, and using a 1/4" ratchet and a 10mm socket, just remove the bolts. The #3 bolt is way up top, but it can be reached without much fuss.
