Unhappy will not start!!!

I have an 84 s-10. Started with a 1.9 changed to 4.3 tbi. Now changing to 4.3 cpi. It will not start. It is turning over fine I am getting spark and 40psi fuel pressure. The fuel pump is not switching on now. i have primed it. it worked fine yesterday. today nothing. the fuel injector was stuck open replaced it and now it is not getting any fuel. I can get it to fireup with starting fuild. Runs for a few seconds and back fires out the intake and dies. HELP!!

Sounds like fuel pressure issue. A 4.3 CPI usually requires 55-60 lbs to just START. Then 60-65 to run. If you have the original pump it just may not be up to the task. Anyone else?

OK chump. Never heard of a 4.3 running on that low a pressure, but then again you aren't telling anyone what it came out of or anything else that would be helpful. Just name calling and so forth. My 4.3 (S-10 Blazer) takes 55lbs min. So does most 4.3 with fuel injection. Talk about bullshit? Good luck.

Hey dickhead, he is right, so stick your attitude up your ass.

Your truck requires 55-61psi for the CPI injection system to work.

Any less and it won't work.....PERIOD.

Don't come onto these forums and pull attitude with people trying to help you.

If you want to be a complete asshole, do the work yourself seeing you seem to THINK you know everything.

Re: will not start!!!

I am very sorry you guys were right I am just tired of the truck. I have put way to much into it. If I had credit I would just go buy another. I will leave the attitude alone. SORRY!

Re: will not start!!!

What would cause the fuel pump to push 40 psi instead of 58-64psi 94 blazer 4.3 cpi

Re: will not start!!!

Defective or the wrong pump.

You sure you have a fuel pump for the CPI system installed?

Can you answer the questions please

Is it a CPI pump for a CPI system?

The CPI injector could be shot too and not holding pressure.
