90 Accord

The other night I was driving and the "S" light, near the temp/gas gauge began flashing repeatly. After I made one stop and turned the car off, the flashing stopped. Has anyone ever had this happen to them and if so, what was the car trying to tell me??

Thanks

Re: 90 Accord

tcm/tcu tranny controle module(unit)...it's either that or your vss (speed sensor).

there are a billion threads regarding these 2 problems...do some searching and you'll find all the answers you need.

Re: 90 Accord

Look, it is either your VSS or your TCU...both cause the 'S' light to blink, but I'm thinking it is your VSS as you mentioned problems with the speedo and tach.

When it just starts to go bad, it will only cause these problems once in awhile, then if not fixed, it will eventually always cause these problems.

I would take it to Autozone and have them pull the codes, or you could do it yourself if you know how...a '17' is the VSS error code...also if it happens again, take it to a highway, set your cruise control and see if it maintains the same speed...chances are it wont...this all points to the vehicle speed sensor...

As far as fixing it...this is very easy:
http://www.hondapitstop.com/accord/t...ed_pulser.html

All you have to do is find one...plenty of junkyards have old accords lying around, if you find one there, you can probably get the sensor for $15...if not you have to find a member on here who is parting their car out, or search ebay and the internet, and you will probably end up paying $50-$60 for it.

Also for future reference, I don't know what threads you 'were through'...but there is a search feature...all you had to do was type in
'blinking S', 'VSS', or 'TCU' to find all the same information I just gave you...so next time please use the search feature for common problems such as this.

PeanutM&MsRgood4u = keep your editorial comments for the "off topic" group. I've read what you've posted today, and most of it is useless, rude or both.

Re: 90 Accord

Ok guys, enough of the nonsense comments, lets just keep to the subject. As for Igovert500...thanks for the actual info about the problem, but your comments on searching were a bit uncalled for and abusive in nature. If you do not like how people search or do not search then you should not write to them....

This site is about sharing information that is relative to the threads...We are all Honda Accord lovers here, not enemies..
