Venture Dash Removal

I want to run a wire to the engine compartment from the top of the dash . I am installing a temperature sensor for outside air temp.

How does the plastic dash come apart, do you just get rough with it and
pry it off with your hands or is there a special tool, I think it has clips
of some sort holding it on???

I cant find a way to run a wire to the engine compartment as I see no
holes with grommets etc. so I thought I would look under the dash.

Thanks

You can pick up a Haynes Repair Manual to find out how to remove the dash. They cost about 15-20 bucks, but well worth it in my opinion. I have broken, damaged, and destroyed too many interior pieces by just getting rough with it (this is what I am inclined to do). I only mention Haynes because I just looked up the body section and they tell you where every hidden screw, clip and tab are located. Valuable information for doing the job without destroying your vehicle.

Good luck!

arrl-

I just looked at your profile and realized you own a 2004 Venture. I'm not sure Haynes has a manual for your model year yet (probably not). I am also unsure how many changes Ventures have undergone on their interior.

If it helps, for my 97 you first have to remove the insulation panels under the dash, then the knee bolster (plastic below dash...it's screwed in), then the center console (it has two hidden screws in the 97), then the instrument cluster bezel snaps off. After that, I'm not sure. I guess it depends on how far you have to go.

Again, good luck-
