Angry speedometer

I have a nonworking speedometer... is it electric, I had some fog lights installed and the tech drilled the switch thru the panel underneath the steering wheel is that where the problem lies, and also where is the pcv valve on the motor Please Help!
The Model is 1994 S-10 2.2 Litre in 4 cylinder 5 Speed Hey thanks for responding.

we would need to know the year, and motor.

The PVC valve is usually somewhere between the valve cover and the air cleaner somehow tied into a hose a little bigger than fuel line

you have a VSS vehicle speed sensor on the output shaft on the transmission.

Trace the wiring back and make sure it isn't damaged. Also, the VSS could be defective too.
