(the oval shaped thing with the fan and climate controls).

what things can i NOT look forward to replacing approaching the 100,000 MILE mark..?? not just car specific but DEL SOL specific....what things generally need to be replaced cus id like to get started early lol

Re: upgrade suggestions

timing belt. get a new one and change it. I don't care if the previous owner says they changed it. It's better to spend $20 on the belt and an afternoon changing it than to make a VERY costly mistake.

Take it to a dealer and ask them to run your VIN for any recalls. The seals were recalled on a few cars, and I think it's the A/C compressor that was also recalled. They'll be able to help. And get a Haynes manual for the rest of your stuff. Come back here when you've read the manual.. twice... and memorized it.

Re: upgrade suggestions

There's only three ground wires to the engine. One off the valve cover, one from the transmission case, and one from the battery. Most expensive one was around $15.

There's seven lights behind the gauge cluster that light up your components. Three are 2.0w, and the other four are 1.4w. There are two bulbs that light up your climate control. Those are 1.4w bulbs.

If your car is automatic, use Honda automatic transmission fluid. If yours is a manual, I believe the manual calls for 5w30 oil for the transmission. That's what mine calls for. Just use the oil Honda has at the dealer.

Re: upgrade suggestions

haha, well I did learn by doing. Beats tearing apart your console just to look at bulbs. I still haven't changed back my climate control bulbs to stock and one of the blue LED's bit the dust finally (same thing happened on the cluster - one eventually kicked the bucket). Learned my lesson. Sticking to stock OEM white bulbs for my console from now on.
