Thumbs up Had fun tonight 2 kills

Ok you guys probably run hondas all the time. Well since i had my gs they were always a threat to me. But now i got my completely stock spyder wich i know is has boost leaks everywhere. I have a boost gauge on there and it reads only about 9 psi. So i was meetin up a 90 or 91 civic hatch with a different engine not sure which. and a maybe 94 coupe.

OK 1st run,(with the hatch) from a stop 1 2 3 go nothing but wheelspin he took off and stopped since he wanted to run when i had a good start. OK again get traction pretty decently ( not all that great) i slowly started creeping on him, once i hit the end of 3rd i took him by like a car and half because road ended shut it down at like 60 something.

Ok 2nd run, decide to go from like a 20mph loss traction when boost hit shifted to second and just pulled on him slowly till i hit the end of third and just started pulling got like maybe 2 cars.

Ok 3rd run, decided to go on a different street from about 40mph went at it shifted to third slowly creeping end of third had about 2 cars when i hit fourth felt like he stayed still pulled about 2 busses. shut it down at about 100mph.

Ok 4th, repeat of 3rd but a little more on him.

OK 5th, (94 coupe) got to a light. turned green he kinda took off on me, i went from a roll then punched it, right when i shifted to second i blew by him putting a little too many busses.

Ok 6th went with him again but from like a 50 mph roll felt like he was just standing still put busses on him.

Overall had alot of fun. I know its nothing to what kevin and jake be taking off on twin turbo rx7's and stuff but it feels good to beat some cars that had me when i had my gs.

And i really need tips on launching. I was shifting at like 6k -6.5k. i wasnt launching all that great i tried to launch at about 2.5k-3k then punching it but damn wheelspin owns me.

Cant wait till the upgrades, i was running stock, well with a hard pipe, but thats not really much , just a nice louder phsst.

Re: Had fun tonight 2 kills

When you launch a stock spyder you should be around the rpm range you said. What i do is launch my spyder at around 3200 or so. I'm at the light, clutch in, tranny in first.....I start to let the clutch out a tad, to where it almost engages, rev the motor to around 3200 or so, time to go just dump the clutch and push the gas (at like a medium pace, i don't just put the pedal through the floor right away). Usually when i get a good launch, i get no wheel hop and no spin, or close to no spin. It's tricky at first to launch these things, but just practice. I have upgraded motor mounts and believe me, these things help A LOT with wheel hop. I don't think i've wheel-hopped since i installed them Good luck.

Re: Had fun tonight 2 kills

Get some Dunlop SP-5000's (asymetrical) tires for the front. I have been throught multiple brands of tires and these are the only ones that allow me to hook up. They don't last very long (maybe one year) but they will hook up. By the way, I don't have any other suspension mods. They are about $105/each from www.tirerack.com .

from the begging you said that you ended it at about 60 at top of 3rd, top of third on a fwd is not 60, more likely 85-90, maybe you meant top of 2nd.

well something like that guessing on the speed i was just looking on the rpms. I was concentrating on shifting on 6k-6.5k because of the t25 being insufficient after that from what ive read

Hey good kill! On launching you car, i say just practice. If you get a perfect launch you should be able to feel it. Its the best feeling in the world!!!

Re: Had fun tonight 2 kills

Yea man i wish i can practice right now but, my brakes are really worn out and it has that annoying grinding sound. But yeah gonna get intercooler piping and my bov hopefully next week. so hopefully that would help me out. I want to run a gsr. so want to be a little practiced before i do next weekend. And probably do the free mods also.
