2001 Sport Keypad Code Help

I can't find the code anywhere. I've tried every suggestion for other models but still no luck. Anyone know where I can find it?

Re: 2001 Sport Keypad Code Help

My '99 code was in the rear left fender on the computer module accessible by the jack storage panel on the left side. I used a flashlight and a mirror to read it. I also read in another post referring to a 2002 Explorer Sport that Ford stopped publishing the code on later models - probably for security's sake, but I don't know this to be fact. One reason is that another post refers to a site:
http://s88853021.onlinehome.us/explorer/keypadcode.html for a 2003 Explorer code reference. My guess is that it might be there.
Good luck and let us know where you find it.
Curt.

Re: 2001 Sport Keypad Code Help

You will find it behind the back seats, behind the plastic panel between the two tiny storage panels where your jack is, located on the computer. It's a 5-digit code on a sticker ont he lower right side of the computer module; it's a tight fit, but I read mine without a flashlight.

Enjoy!

I've got the same problem; have a 2001 Explorer Sport and have looked in every location mentioned in the forum with no luck. Any other suggestions?

That is all well and good for the Sport Trac guys but how about the explorer sport guys. I looked near my jack, no luck, and a few other places that i could see a module but again, flop, anyother suggestions.

Re: Re: Re: 2001 Sport Keypad Code Help

This thread is referring to the Sport, not the Sport Trac. If you have a post-2001 vehicle, check my earlier post above. Someone along the line has supplied a url that has pictures for a 2002 that shows where it is located. So far as the other years, I've found the code in the rear left fender thru the jack storage access panel in my '99 XLT, my '98 XLT, my '97 XLT, a friend's '98 Sport (she didn't have her code), my brother-in-law's 2001 V8 XLT and his 2000 Limited. And my b-i-l has a 2000 XLT roll-over in which I found the computer located there as well (just checkin'). If yours is one of these years, look again. It'll be towards the front of the cover opening. As stated before, it's hard to see the label since Ford put it on the outside side of the module. They have an uncanny knack for making things difficult. Again, see my earlier post, and I hope you will find yours. Good luck.

Please someone help me find the outside door keypad factory code for my 2001 Ford Explorer Sport.
I've been reading all night to find the keypad code location. The only thing I found in the jack compartment was a spray bottle of tire cleaner. It was down below the rear speaker. I crawled into the jack space and reached all the way to the driver door. I found it and some paper towels. I am sooo frustrated. I laid under the dashbord with my head against the peddles looking up into the unknown and found nothing. I did the same for the passenger side, and then I removed the glove box from its holders and looked. And Looked! AND LOOKED! HELP!!!

Will the code on the computer work if a previous owner changed the code?

Original code never changes. One additional - non permanent/user defined - code can be added.
Funny that this is a 'Quick Reply' well over a year late!! LOL

Re: 2001 Sport Keypad Code Help

hey everyone. i have 2001 sport and i followed all the suggestions and found it no where. but i found it behind the passenger air bag. if u drop the glove box, and locate to brass colored bolts(should be 5/16 socket) that will free the airbag. pull it out and have someone hold it up(i didn't want to remove it from the wire harness) there should be a cream colored box behind it(about 4inches by 2inches in size) u will have to remove the box to see the numbers. numbers are pretty big on it, should be five of them. hope this helps

Re: 2001 Sport Keypad Code Help

Hi . I have a 2003 Ford Explorer Sport XLT (NOT TRAC) , and everywhere I've read, on the web, the keyless entry module IS NOT where they say it's supposed to be ! My keypad doesn't even light up , like others I've seen . I've checked every fuse on the vehicle , and they're fine , so ....any opinions ? I'm convinced the module is either under the dash, behind the instrument panel , or has been removed ! If anyone can help me , please feel free to respond. I've driven myself insane , trying to locate this darned thing , so ANY constructive help will be welcomed !

I see you found the module/code based on information in the sticky.
