Thumbs down frame beaming

have a 2004 chevy silverado bought 5/5/04 it has severe shake in pretty much the whole truck: felt most in steering column
its a 4 wheel drive extended cab; been back to dealer 9 times for this problem:
they can make a lot of excuses:: NO results! they have changed tires : put in drive shaft :tried weight in the back of the pick up: did front end alignment: raised & lowered tortion bars: 600 miles in tests to see if they had fixed it NO Results!

Is this a problem with extended cabs only or do the regular cabs have it also?

I have been told by 2 dealers that the running boards caused the problem: however the problem was there before the running boards:

EVA test says it is within specs but did not tell us the numbers
to dreamer56 we have been thru nys lemeon law & arbitrator said the reason we did not win our case was because the problem had been fixed by the end of 4th visit & did not significantly reduce the value of the vehicle:
: This was all before we knew about frame beaming & that many others had the same problems.
We have had the run around since day one NO RESULTS!
we traded in a 2002 reg chevy cab that did not have this problem
any body thought about a class action suit against Chevrolet??

truck now has 8400 miles& today we had to have the heater fixed speeds 4 & 5 worked nothing else:: At the dealer they said they had 3 other trucks with the same frame beaming problem: We live in a very rural area small #'s of people 3 in one dealer ship Not Good NO RESULTS!
this is a 4 year smart buy can't wait to see what the next 3 years are like.

Re: frame beaming

it does it at all speeds: worse when going slower
It does not change when braking :
it gets worse when towing something and going up a grade or hill
it does not change in 2 or 4 wheel drive. I have never done reverse or emg brake.

Re: frame beaming

the problem could be the trany it may be loose at the flex plate or rear shaft bushing .the tech. should put the rear of truck up in the air then put it in gear to find the problem .this problem can be found don't give up

I have hired an attorney who is considering a class action suit. First step will be to begin discovery. We will compel discovery of all reports of frame beaming, vibration and shakeing for 1999 thru 2004 silverados nation wide.
