AX4N pan fluid amount...

From the homework I've done, it seems the the car (95) has a dealer replaced tranny... It now has an AX4N. Also seems that it should have had Mercon V fluid in it instead of the Mercon III that I had added. Also seems like the dipstick was never changed out... I measured what was removed... I'm measuring 9 quarts...could be 10...
So, looks like I'm dropping the pan in the am and will refill with 10 quarts of MerconV.... come Friday am, I'll repeat, and should have all running again....
My question is, when the pan is dropped, how much fluid should be added??? Also, what is the total capacity of the tranny??? I'll like to know so I can make a mark on my incorrect (I think) dipstick..
Really runs like a heap with two different fluids in it!

Thanks in advance,
Adam

Re: AX4N pan fluid amount...

The transmission in my '02 took 7 1/2 qts of Mercon V to refill after a pan drop & filter change. I think is the same transmission you refer to. I spilled some because I found it didn't take very fast if the car was up in front on the floorjack. Cheapest place I could find for the fluid was Castrol @ Wal-Mart.
