84' Honda CRX Engine Replacement with an 85' Honda CRX Engine

My dad and I recently bought a 1985 Honda CRX that was involved in a roll over accident. As far as we can tell, the engine seems to run fine. We would like to put the 85' engine in my 84' Honda CRX. The 85' Honda is a manual and fuel injected, while my 84' is an automatic and carbuerated. We're new at this kind of stuff so I have a few questions.
1) How hard will it be?
2) What problems can I expect?
3) Any really difficult spots in the switch?
4) and any other tips that can be offered.

the engine and trans will bolt in with no problems. switching to fuel injection will be you most difficult, good site to ask around for specifics www.redpepperracing.com, also check out this site, the guy was swapping an integra motor onto a carb crx but the wiring issues will be similar. http://the-compound.com/dylan/crx

Yea the fuel system is a pain i am currently swapping a DOHC ZC fuel injected into a 85 REX carbed. And it's a pain. If you don't end up doing it tell me what you want for the fuel pump on the 85 REX.

In order to swap the fuel injection you will need to use: '85 SI motor, transmission, shift linkage, clutch pedal, clutch cable, wiring harness, ECU, spedometer cluster, and fuel pump. Basically, other than the interior and suspension, you will be gutting the '85 SI and putting everything in the '84. Swapping the transmission, shift linkage, clutch pedal and cable is not necessary, but worth it!

You could swap the motor/trans and use your old carb and manifold. Or run a dual carb system like cvcc_wagon!

Why not just turn the '85 into a convertible?
LOL!
