compression
my geo hasnt been idling right lately and its only getting around 35 mpg i asked some people and replaced the coolant temp. sensor and it idles better but now when you let out of the clutch you have to give it alot of gas or it wants to die i did a copression test all 3 cylinders tested at 130 i looked in the haynes manual and i cant find the right compression anywhere in the book can anyone tell me what it is and if mine is low whats the easist way to fix it

all the good engines i have run a compression test on have 160-170 psi when engine is warm. 130 sounds fairly low, are you using any oil?

factory is 185psi. You're runnin at 70%
. Sounds like your engine is on it's way out. Either you need a valve job, or your compression rings are shot.

as we speak my cylinder head is getting redone. my cylinders had 180, 120, and 125 from #1 through #3, and valves were sticking. ABSOLUTE minimum is 160 allowed, so you should get head off and that will tell you what is wrong. also try and squirt a bit of oil and redo the test. if idle is rough and all cylinders are low, maybe you camshaft is worn.
