HELP - 03 3.4 liter Engine SPENT

Hey,

I just bought my 03 Alero a year ago with 36,000 miles. Now it has 58,00 and the engine puked. The coolant leaked, mixed with the oil and stopped lubricating the engine. I heard this has been a problem with the 3.4 liter engines and I might get GM to help me with a fraction of the cost. About $3,000 later I will have a new engine. Has anyone heard of this being a problem?

Thanks,

Fredrick

Sounds like your lower intake manifold gasket went bad. I thought that they had that fixed by the time the 03 models came out. It's a very common problem. You could call GM but I don;t know how far it will get you. What might get them to help you is the fact that you have less than 60000 miles. Call Olds directly at 1-800-442-OLDS. Good Luck

There are used 3.4L V6 engines on Ebay with between 20 and 30K miles on them for only like $600.
