No power to fuel pump
Hello:
I have a 1992 MAZDA MPV V6 3L My car began stalling gradually over 1 day and now it does not start. I verified after and before the fuel filter that it is fuel starvation before and now no fuel at all. I have remove the fuel pump and verified that is working. I checked the main fuse and it is good. I did all the tests on the relay including continuancy and voltage and it passed except for two of the wires I get 9 volts versus 12 like the book says. I don’t think that is the reason for my problem. I verified that I don’t get any voltage at all at the fuel pump connection. I believe that the problem is from the relay to the connector. I have not checked under the car for broken wires but I will next. Is there anything else between the relay to the fuel pump connector that may be causing this problem? Could it be that the difference in voltage of 9 and 12 on two of the wires of the relay may be causing this problem? If this was the case I should be getting the same 9 volts on the fuel pump connector but I get nothing. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks Rui |
