I have a 99 jetta old body style and i am wanting to repace the headlights the owners manual says to take it to the dealer because i have dual headlight assembly and it takes special tools. does anyone know if this is true or is the "special tool" just a screwdriver also if you know how to do the replacement that would greatly help. thanks

There is no "special tool" to remove the headlamps. You do, although, need to remove the center grille and front bumper cover because 2 of the 4 securing bolts for the headlamps are under the bumper cover.
