Locate the EVAP system schematic. This should be on a large sticker on the underside of the hood. This drawing will show the entire (basic) EVAP system layout and will indicate where the "Evaporative Emission Control System Vent Control Circuit" is. From there you can possibly trace out & troubleshoot the vent line under the truck to check for breaks/leaks or a possible problem with the solenoid valve that opens/closes this vent line. Short of buying a full-blown repair manual from helminc.com or taking it in to a dealer, I don't see any other way to fix this concern. I know you say you replaced the gas cap, but make sure it seals off & make sure at no time you smell gasoline from the fuel filler area, or anywhere else from the truck. This will also set off EVAP system codes.
G/luck!
Joel

99FrustratedJeep, maybe it is just me but I really don't see the need for you to start a new topic which is exactly the same as the one you already have. This all the more true when your old topic is only about 1 week old. First of all it is just plain rude but more importantly you lose the continuity of the problem. Also, in this case I posted exactly what the code is for, what to check, and where to check. You then restart the topic like nothing ever happened and expect a completly new set of answers I guess because you didn't like the first set. Good luck I know any problem can be frustrating.

FrustatedJeep, based on your latest post you have certainly proved my point about you being rude. Now you have added crude to the list too. Don't bother thanking me for sending you the manual pages that deal with your problem as I will not be doing that.

travelman I mean travelboy.

The only reason Crudeness was involved, is you jumped down my throat for my lack of understanding this forum.
