I have a 1994 Grand Cherokee Limited that has been having an electrical
problem for about a year. The battery discharges (when not driven) after about 3-4 days. Car has been to two different Jeep dealer--neither could fix the problem. The charging system has been checked and is ok--the battery is new. Finally decided to do my own trouble shooting. With an amp meter connected between the negative battery terminal and the neg. connector, I read 268 milliamp. The current drops to about 30 milliamps when the "Blower Motor" 30 amp maxi fuse in the Power Distribution Center is pulled. No other fuse or relay in the PDC or in the fuse block (inside, passanger side of car) has any effect on the (high) current draw. I checked the blower motor and the voltages at the motor (for various speeds) and all seem ok. The only reference I have is a downloaded copy of a 1993 jeep sevice manual from http://www.pirate4x4.com/tech/billav...DFs/index.html but can not find the "Blower Motor" maxi fuse (or anything simular) to trace the problem circuit. The PDC for the 1993 Jeep are not exactly the same as the 1994 Grand Cherokee. Does anyone have any ideas which circuit are fed by the "Blower Motor" fuse or any resources. thanks |
