Question Is there a focus that hits 150+mph, if so what model?

About 8 months ago I was driving my FDtt from palm beach fl 2 chicago. About from jacksonville 2 Warner robins there was this old fart in a focus, i was going fast so he was useing me for a police sheild. I kinda got cocky and floored her and ended up around 160mph(speedo says 180) that old fart was always about 15-20 spaces behind me constantly. So i was woundering what model he might be driving? That little fucker was cool.

I'm thinking a tweaked SVT was probably the car behind you. But given lots of money and time, ANY Focus could be that fast.

yeah a SVT tops out in the 140's the non-svt in the 130's, and it wont take a "lot of money" a nice head package could do it or a basic turbo or SC setup

To me, a basic turbo kit or supercharger IS a lot of money and takes some time to do!

Closest you're going to get to 150mph STOCK is the Focus RS. But obviously we don't get it in the US!!!! It hits around 144+ .

The easiest way if you know how is to bypass the speed regulator (which is now installed on every make and model car for safety reasons) if you don't know how, I suggest going to a specialty shop and having it done there. But be warned, the engine may not be able to take that sort of abuse for very long.

The engine will be fine. I've had both the rev limiter removed and the speed limiter removed for years. A 2001 I take my Focus to the track and spend 20 minutes sessions moving over the speed limiter and the revving over 6K. The speed limiter is a saftey net from lawyers. It protects the companies from things like the Firestone deal and is the same reason places like tire rack will only sell you tires that are approved for your Focus.

I don't really have the need to do this, nor do I plan on doing it, but I'm just curious how fast you could get a stock ZX3 to go without the speed limiter?
