Prelude Si and Prelude Vtec?

I am a newb to the import industry so please forgive my complete lack of knowledge on a few things, hell, I know more about planes than I do my own car. I recently got my first honda, yes I'm 22 and its sad, I started out with a mazda MX3, but that was just to get to and from work everyday, but anyways to the question.

I have a 95 Prelude Vtec, well, it says it is, but from what I have been reading and researching, I have seen 2 honda Vtec's. My question is, whats the difference between a Prelude Si and a Prelude Vtec if there is any difference? Engine wise mostly because I have read there seems to be a H22 and a H22A? Is there a difference between them? Any information would be helpful.

Re: Prelude Si and Prelude Vtec?

the difference between engines is h22 (vtec) and h23 (si). the h22 puts out 200hp and about 160tq where the Si puts out 160hp and lower compression pistons but a little bit more displacement.

VTEC's also have bigger brakes.

Re: Prelude Si and Prelude Vtec?

Look at the tach - VTEC's redline at 7300, Si's redline at 6500.
