Re: z71

I've had mine since 01, and I've loved it. Except having to replace the engine, but other than that, it rules! Have not had one place I could not go that I wanted to.

Re: z71

I bought the truck with 45K on it. About 75K, oneof the head gaskets cracked, and was internally letting water into the oil. I didnt notice until my next oil change, which was at that time, 1500 miles away. I had the head gaskets replaced, and then 20K later, as I was inthe middle of a race, the engine started knocking BAD! I continued to drive it for about 2 weeks, and it completely locked up at an intersection. Found out the water in the oil messed the bearings up, and 4 of them had spun.

Re: z71

Go here:

http://www.chevrolet.com/silverado/1500/

Scroll down to Z71. I believe that everything on the Z71 is optional on a regular truck except for the shocks, jounce bumpers, and stabilizer bars.

Everything on Z71 list is in addition to LS trim. If you don't want to pay for LS features, get a standard 4x4 and add the items that you want.
