Torsion bar?????
Does anyone know how far you can crank your torsion bars. I have a 1994 jimmy and I have about 1/4 inch of thread remaining on the bolt. My truck still isn't sitting level i'm running 100% stock everything. I was thinking about placing a slightly longer bolt in there to gain the height I need. I know it isn't the best idea but i'm low on $$$ I just replaced cpi, fuel pump, nut kit,and a bunch of other nickle and dime things on it. If anyone has tried it please let me know.
Thanks |

My truck was in an accident...and shortly thereafter the torsion brackets went out. I had the troubled mount replaced...only to have the same problem soon after. My mechanic replaced both, and everything was great for about a month and a half. Since the parts were still warantied...he put on a bracket mount that was more like the original part.
You're probably best off replacing both bracket mounts. Parts should run somewhere around $100 for both mounts, and probably less if you shop around. |
