91 Deville Start Problem
The other day I got into the car and there was no power, absolutely nothing. So I had a friend come over and jump the car, we did for some time until the battery had some charge.
The car would try to start but it sounded like it had no gas so we checked the fuel pump and it's working. Weird thing was that from where the plug wires connect to the distributor, they were sparking like crazy.
My friend thinks maybe the wires need to be changed and maybe the firing order is off on the car. I thought it needed a tune up because I had taken it on a trip a weeks back and going up hill it wouldn't accelerate, the more I pushed the gas the slower it would go!!!
I know a bit about cars and it's acting like it needs a tune up very bad, but would that fix the starting problem? The throttle body also back fired as we were trying to start it that night with the jumper cables.
Any ideas? I bought the new wires, new distributor cap and roter.
