Nah, 125 HP Civic. There's what you need. That's not too much power for anyone. Anything more is just NUTS!! There would be chaos if nearly half the world didn't own a Civic. It's true, I swear, just about every other car I see nowadays is Civic. On your way home, count how many you see just driving on the way. You'd be surprised that about 50% of the cars you see is a Civic.

Back on topic, Honestly, depending on what you know you can handle, and what isn't dangerous to those around you is your personal deal. If you can handle a 500HP TA, or a 9 Sec Honda, then I guess you really can't say there's such a thing is too much. But that's just my personal input. Late...

I think it depends on the car. Like 550hp like youngVR4 said might really not be too much (j/k) for a AWD 3500lbs+ car like his. Im sure he could put most that power down with out spinning all over the place everytime he touches the gas peddle. However 550hp would be way to much for say a old school E30 M3 BMVeh like im looking for. Its 2700lbs RWD so im only looking for 350hp. Anymore then that and I would be spinning all over the place. And IMO thats where it becomes too much hp, when you cant put down most of your hp. However knowing when its too much is very different then to "stop moding" when its too much

Re: how fast is to fast

I am thinking I should be at 475 RWHP this summer, and once it gets boosted, over 700 RWHP. I should be about done then.

400hp for a daily drive. 600hp+ for the weekend warrior.

Re: Re: how fast is to fast

i say a 12sec car is good daily driver, anything after that can be a bitch to drive, but if you are doing 12sec then you naturally will have the hp to go along with that time, so it does vary, but 12sec car is my limit...
but then again my boys have 11sec and a 9sec rx7 that they drive to work and back evey day, more the 11sec rx then 9 and they dont have much problems but they do have alot ALOT of self control..

Re: how fast is to fast

Id be happy with an E46 ///M3 with about 350-400 wheel. That would be mid 11s to low 12s. Maybe very high 10s to low-mid 11s. Basically, it would be cool, fast, and handle well. And be usefull in everyday driving.

Re: how fast is to fast

With my FWD..I'm stopping at around 300-350. With an AWD car you can go a bit higher since its easier to control for street driving. BUT, the biggest factor in this whole equation is SELF CONTROL! If you can control your urges and not be too dangerous on the streets with any car, then really, there is no limit for you.

Re: how fast is to fast

Personally I wouldn't want a car that has too much hp as a daily driver, just because the car would have too much time and money put into it, and wouldn't want it wrecked. I would just get a POS daily driver.

Re: how fast is to fast

i've had my for 2 months now and i still can't handle it. eventualy i will be able to, but i can't imagine it with 300 hp, i couldn't drive one of those. i think my car is plenty fast, and i have to use self control as well.

it all comes down to the driver, and what he can handle.
