Hello everybody, thanks for answering my post about the oil lines. I have another question to ask. What kind of tools do I need to replace a door hinge pin? Where do I get tools? Is it a 2 man job or can I do it alone? Thanks in advance

Re: Door pin
This is a 2 man job and you will need a hammer, a metal punch or phillips driver, and some patiences. This is a pain in the backside job. These doors are very heavy.

I do them by myself all the time. Just support well with a couple jack stands.
THe door doesn't have to get completely out of the way, just be sure to put a couple rags between the front fender and the door to keep the door feom getting scratched. It make it a lot easier if you have the proper tools, but it can be done with a little inconvenience and normal tools (such as ourprecious6 listed above). A door hinge spring compressor would really help too. Hope this helps. |

Is it necessary to replace the pin if you really just want to change the hinge bushings?
I think i can grind the end of the pin off and weld it back with the new bushings installed... is that a good plan?? |
