start

I have a maxima 1990 which runs good but for the last few days i noticed it starts in the morning but doesn't start at night. I figure some part doesn't kick in when its a few degrees colder.
Any one knows what it could be?

I have no more info to give. i simply start the car and go to work and say if i wanna go out after 8pm when it gets dark a bit colder outside
it cranks but no start.

Luckily u gave more info: "it cranks but no start." ...More details???

Seems u batt and starter sys ok.

Listen to solenoid click. Screwdriver on solenoid, ear on handle. Do this as engine runs, so u know whatsit like.

--->Repeat as no start.

1. If clicks:
- ECU is alive, giving pulses
- wirings ok
- injector coil ok
- injector needle moves, not jammed.

---> spark/nospark?... gas pressure?

2. If no click, ECU might be dead, no pwr. ECU relay stuck (knock on it, change), ign sw worn and does not give ECU 'engine running' signal. Other oxidations...

At night when it won't start , what do you do to start it?Or do you wait till morn?

I havevn't found anyways to start it at night and never could use the car. Then again since weather got back to more normal temperature a few days ago(south, calif.) it has been starting just fine at night so I am sure it has something to do with the outside temp.
