Question Dimming lights problems??? Pls Help!

My 2000 Chevy Cavalier is having a new problem with dimming lights. Both the headlights and the dashboard lights dim while idling and brighten when I start driving.

What could be the cause of this? Please help!

Thumbs up Thanks!

Hey thanks!

I know that there's some type of machine to test the battery, but how would you test the alternator?

Re: Dimming lights problems??? Pls Help!

do you have a voltmeter. While the engines running the battery should be at around 14 volts. If you dont have a volt meter most parts stores and alot of shops will check your battery and alternator for free

Crappy tire can do it but they will charge. I'm in ON. They can do it in about 2 mins but don't let 'em fix it. I know people who have very bad stories!!!!
