HELP!! Idle is too high!!

I have an 91 civic dx Sedan with a 1.5l and a AT Tranny and when I shift into drive, it jumps into gear. Also when i'm on a hill, i can let off of the gas and it will creep up all by itself? Idle is def. to high. Any suggestions??

Re: HELP!! Idle is too high!!

idle may be a little bit too high,
thats why when you let off the gas it creeps,
a friends car I know,(not a civic)
his creeped slowly when you let off the gas in gear,
turn the idle down it stops,
you should have a throttle cable going under the throttle body,
you can adjust it from there.

if adjusting the throttle cable doesn't work look for a vacuum leak

Re: HELP!! Idle is too high!!

put it in neutral and rev it up to redline and put it into gear, that'll fix it for sure.
