It's a real common problem. We doa ton of 'em.
I think that the parts are just about $30 and you'll probably be charged an hour of labor. So depending onyour local labor rate, close to $100 should do it. Hope this helps.

Yip, door pins and bushings.
After you swap in new ones, make sure you oil and lube them constantly from now on.

Having been thru this bs once before with a failed transmission on a Dodge minivan, I have learned that you need to establish a pattern--tech bulletins and prior cases are particulary helpful. Any help would be really appreciated. Right now my seven passenger conversion van is a joke. To get more than two people in it, you have to climb in thru the passenger side and then over the console. What a mess!! And to think that I supposedly paid extra for GMC quality . Never again.

97 Sonoma, 4.3L -- My driver door hasn't closed properly for a long time now. I'm hoping someone has a suggestion, besides take it to someone to fix, to repair it. It seems to get worse when the weather turns cooler. -- jack -- [email protected]

I've had my drivers side sagging for a while because the numbskull who had the truck before me got the wrong pins and bushings and drilled the hinge holes out...(Arrrrrgrg) I temporarily tac welded the bushing to the hings so it wouldn't move but that's only a temporary fix... The bottom hole on the top hinge attached to the door egged (developed an egg shaped hole) Well since my truck is in the body shop, they welded the holes shut, then redrilled the holes (I supplied the proper bushings and pins) and it only cost me 50 bux in labor.
I agreee though, a 50k car shouldn't cost 2k to fix a hinge... I would take it to a reputable local body shop and see what they have to say.
