Got something against GM A bodies??? Probably beat everything on that list of yours....LOL.. (well... roadrunners are up there with them, but I can't vouch for how they ride)
If you're set on picking from that list, then I'd go for the nova, Camaro or Firebirds... excellent handling, can be made to have good power, ride as good as any of the others on your list. Just no room for hauling groceries...lol |

if you are looking for great handling and daily-driver goodness, a six-banger camaro would be good. generally speaking, though, muscle cars arent great for driving to work.

That all depends on how much you budget for gas...lol. I drove a 350 72 Buick GS as my daily driver for 15months... If you get the right one, it'll handle as good as the imports (stock 2 stock). Front & rear sway bars, disk brakes.. and I shocked alot of Acura's & Civics (around corners). Get one with a 455... and well... then you can go hunting for vetts, stangs, & WRX's. Also take note of all the local gas stations. Camaros have been played out.. but for a good reason. There are a ton of them, Repro parts are pleantiful, cheap, and they look good. Yeah, everybody and their grandmother has one.. but something tells me he doens't care about that. Hands down.. nothing beats the ride of an A body... Skylark, GS, Chevelle, Cutlass, Lemans, GTO. (well except for the BIG BOATS, maybe). I still think the Camaro/TA/firebird is the way to go though. They're cheap to purchase(compared to other cars of the era), cheap to Build, handle good, and ride decent. Good Hunting. |

I'm leaning towards the Firebird/TA/LeMans/GTO/Cutlass route at this time....they all have certain things about them that I like........Also.....what would be good or bad about a 67-69 Dart 360?? |

They were great, but a bit rare. Their handling is not so good, the power steering is horribly over-boosted and numb.....and the manual steering boxes were pretty heavy and slow. The front torsion bars like to break when old, (although they are height adjustable - a nice touch). The unit bodies are susceptable to rust in all the usual places. Best of all, they have relatively light weight, and the high winding 340 is a nice piece. |
