2001 Rodeo Security System

I have a 2001 Rodeo and the light on the security system blinks very dim. The keyless remote intermittently opens the doors. The lock button works all the time. Any suggestions as to what the problem could be???

try a new battery in the remote.

The battery is new. Would that cause the ight on the dshboard to be dim?
