Car won't start - Battery? Antifreeze? Neither?

I have a 95 Neon. When I started it this morning, the Check Engine light came on. I thought it might just work itself out, so after warming up the car for a few minutes, I turned it off (hoping that the light wouldn't come on again when I restarted it). When I turned the key, nothing happened. I waited 30 minutes and got a couple of clicks when I tried again.

I'm pretty sure that there were no lights left on that would have killed the battery. It was pretty cold last night and I think we might not have the right antifreeze (we paid for stuff that works to -40, but they put in the -30 stuff). The cap to the coolant reserve tank was open and I'm not sure if it's all frozen (I don't know how to check, so I tried to shake the car and look for movement in the coolant reserve tank, but I didn't see any).

Does anyone have an idea? I'm new to the city and don't know anyone. Should I just have it towed to Midas and hope that they can figure it out?

Re: Car won't start - Battery? Antifreeze? Neither?

Sounds like a bad battery, or bad connections. Here is what i would do.
1.) Unhook the battery cables from the battery. Clean the terminals of the battery with a wire brush, then clean the connections on the battery cables. They are probably all gunked up.
Try the motor again. If it still does not start, have someone jump you. If the jump works, then it is time for a new battery. When it gets cold out it is harder to start the engine, and at the same time the battery looses some power. Hope that helps.
