First car What should i Get???

I'm going to get my first car soon and I'm going to spend about 1000 or 2000 bucks for it. Now i want to get a ok car for the money that will last me awhile. I want to get a Manual Transmision. I want it to look nice and have enough power to burn out. What size of engine should i get to do that.

I don't want you guys thinking i'm a idot or anything about saying i want my first car to have power or something. But you know how it is you were all kids to and were in High School.

Well from the domestic POV: get a Mustang, Camaro, Firebird from the 80's...

From the foreign POV: get a 510, 240SX, AE86 (RWD Corolla), BMW 2002, VW Golf/Rabbit

decent late 80's early 90's mustang with a 302...for $2000, you should be able to find SOMETHING, and then you have room for improvement on that

If you are only spending 2K, you cant be do damn fussy. An early model 5.0 mustang or 305 camero (the 350 might be doable as well) will give you the best bang for the buck for power. As for reliability, you're taking your chances with any used car for 2 grand.

new car

My best advice would be to go for a late 80s chrysler car with a 2.2T. These cars may not look sporty but they go. I have a 88 sundance with a 2.2 turbo and I can blow the doors off most import shit even if it is stock. My buddy drives a mustang 5.0 and my car suprises the shit out of him. Also if you go to Mopar Performance you can pick up a turbo kit for about $2000 which pushes out over 300 HORSEPOWER. Most people don't think these cars are fast because most of the ones out there have brocken waste gate actuators. This was a common problem among these cars. I also know of a quick trick to crank the boost on these cars up with out spending a penny.
