No Heatwater from engine

Hi. Suddenly my ī91 Park Avenue didnīt deliver any warm air from the heating system. I checked under the hood and found a host intake nipple was broken. It was the short hose from the waterpump to the manifold just behind the alternator. I could fix a new nipple, fill with coolant fluid, but still I have no heat inside the car. It seems that the water is not circulating and does not go through the hoses to/from the heat package at the firewall (those are not warm).
Is there any valve that opens to pass hot water to the heaterpackage when the engine raises its temperature? Could a malfunctioning thermostat cause this problem?
May it be an electrical issue?

Thanks for any assistance! /Rgds Mats

Re: No Heatwater from engine

you could have air in the cooling system.. this would do such a thing.

Yeah, sounds logical! Thanks! Have any tip how to get rid of the air? Suppose there ought to be a screw nipple at the highest point?

There is above the thermostat housing. if the thermostatit sticking the hose could have blown off, but air could also be the problem with the heat. open the valve and run the motor, get all the air out of there. that causes heat spots in the motor that can cause damge. let us know.
