Shaved Doors

Hey fellas, and ladies, wuts sup
I was plannin to intall shaved door kits for my next project on my 94 escort wagon. Just one problem, i was wonderin how to get rid or cover the dent (the place where the handle would be) that is left after removing the handle? Anyone know? Also another question, if i do intsall this shaved door kit, will i still be able to use my door handle from the inside of the car to open the door? Thanx yall, stay fresh!

Re: Shaved Doors

ive never installed one, but I think you can still use you inside door handle to open the door. and as far as smoothing out the empty space where the outside handle was, it should just be getting body filler and filling it in and sanding and painting.

you would want to weld a patch over the whole then a skim of body fill. dont try to fill in the hole with a glob of fill.

Try tack-welding the patch on from the inside. I haven't paid much attention to how much clearance there is to do that, but it's the best way to go. Tack a patch from the inside, then body fill it and smooth/paint/what-not from the outside.
