Re: aftermarket headers after turboing a n/t?

nope. if you put in nt headers they wont work with a turbo. you could just sell them once you turbo it. the stock 2g turbo manifold flow plenty enough for most people so you can just use a stock mani once you go turbo.

Re: aftermarket headers after turboing a n/t?

If it were me i would hold off on the header. i mean whats the point of paying for it then taking it off in a few months. id set the money aside then maybe buy a tubular turbo manifold when you go turbo. you can switch the flange onto those just like the stock 4g63 turbo manifold. if you do that i would opt for a black one because the finish will get messed up from cutting and welding flanges then you can have it powdercoated or chromed or do whatever with it. gl peace

Re: aftermarket headers after turboing a n/t?

if you want a good price piece it together yourself... star and hahn cost way more then piecing together a kit. you can usually piece together a good kit for under 1500. The kit im putting together i have under 500 in and ill have the rest after another 300 or so.. so in my case under a grand.

the other thing you gotta remember is your gonna need built internals for over 10 psi or so.. i mean it can be done without it but i wouldnt dare especially if you have decently high miles. the turboing a rs/gs/esi sticky thread has a lot of useful info if you havent read it already

Re: aftermarket headers after turboing a n/t?

Turbo Specialties Inc. makes a turbo kit for the 420A. I currently just bought it. It comes with a Garrett T25 turbo but it can be upgraded to a T28 Ball Bearing turbo with the same manifold. http://www.importperformanceparts.ne...itsubishi.html sells it cheapest that I can find but search the net you can find a lot of deals

Re: aftermarket headers after turboing a n/t?

But if you get the T25BB turbo, would you have to modify any other performance parts on the RS or would it just be for complete stock internals and stock exhaust?

Re: aftermarket headers after turboing a n/t?

If you are worried about the internals or don't have money for that right away the regular T25 would probably be the way to go where the turbo kit is set up perfect for the car the way it is then if you want to upgrade later on when you can work on the internals you can go with the bigger turbo. As for the difference with the T25 and the T25 BB I don't know but I am sure if you emailed the company selling it or asking someone else in here you might get the answer.
