Decibels

This is an odd question, but does anyone know the decibels levels of the loudmouth exhaust through the rpm range on an lt1? Looking to buy one but I am just paranoid about noise laws. I know there are some dB readings on www.ls1sounds.com but they don't mention the LM.

Re: Decibels

I wouldnt worry too much about the actual decible rating.. Ive yet to see a cop standing behind someones car with an SA measuring the decible rating of his exhaust..
From the clips ive heard, Its similar to the Flowmaster but maybe not as loud

Re: Decibels

Some of the cops here (MO) are on a power trip that pick on teens. Just trying to be cautious and not draw attention from the wrong popo, I mean people.

I've heard stories of cops doing it around here, telling civics to hold at a certain rpm to get an "accurate" reading of sound, which I think is obsured in the first place, but hey, its the law, sorta.

Re: Decibels

Another quick question, is there a sound difference if you clamp the system up compared to welding it together. I heard somewhere that it is a fraction louder welded. Not sure though.

Re: Decibels

yeah, even here, because if the big Import craze, and their loud ass mufflers, the cops are startin to crack down on loud exhausts.. BUt a 4 or 6 cylinder loud exhaust is MUCH more irratating and noticeable than the V8 loud..
I think you'l be fine..

If there was, me thinks it would never be noticeable by ear..
