I don't think this is a repost. In any case these pictures give you a good sense of what it was like to be present when the Tsunami hit.

Whats scary is how fast, it seems, the tsunami hit. Look at this picture and the people highlighted in the blue square. By the looks of it they're smiling for the camera unaware of whats going on behind them.

those waves look awesome to surf though.

All through the truma, I can't help but think "if I were there, I wouldn't be sad, I'd be having the time of my life surfing those bitch-ass waves", but then again, that's just me.

Ma bad, it says up tp 600mph beneath the water but the closer it gets to the shore it drastically slows down, they hit at what, 40-50mph? Thats still nuts

Sunday I spent 3 hours watching Tsunami shows on Discovery. I don't think I like living near the beach now.
