The theory of death!
Hello!
This maybe pointless to some but logical and mind bugling to others, the seeking of answers and explanations of the after life have been mankind’s path. My theory is not the answer to what happens in the after life but the theory that answers to how we will respond if we are told. I may hold and incorrect understanding but to what I theorize I believe maybe true. The way my theory applies is: if we are told by God, or by the dead (don’t ask me how) we will not be able to mentally process the information that we are given. For a good example and yet very simple one, try imagining that space/cosmos has no beginning nor end, limitless space that goes on forever. If you really start to imagine this it can mentally damage you after a period of time, simply because our understanding and mind is not capable of retrieving such information. Same is applied to understanding the process of the after life; we have no information on it but its there. Like the space, we are located in it and we know it’s there yet we have practically covered a pin point section of the whole thing. Death is part of life and the aftermath of life, the concept of death is simple…ending of life, but understanding death is most likely imposable. I believe that the actual answer to what is death and how it happens cannot be answered through since and technology, but in one point or the other everyone will find out for them self’s when the time comes to die. |

Death is just like an added motivation into our lives, we spend our lives in fear of the "great unknown". Keeps us at our best, because our lives are short and precious, you gotta make the most of it, right??

Re: The theory of death!
Ok.. so your theory is we don't know what death is, and the only way to know what its about is to die?
Gee, thanks for that startiling new information

I don't have a theory on death. I'm just going to wait.

Re: The theory of death!
But back to the original question:
What would happen if we were told (from wherever) what would happen after we died? There's a couple of things: 1) We'd find out that there would be nothing. In which case we'd try to live as long as possible. 2) We'd find out there IS an afterlife, in which case we'd try to live a GOOD as possible in order to go to the good place. Beyond that, AMV has a good point, our mortal brains may not have the capacity to understand fully what we were told. His description of infinity, that you can't fully understand it, is correct if you think about it. [And...despite the obvious spelling error, "boggling" the mind is actually similar to "bugling" the mind; think about the disorientation experienced if a bugle was blown next to your ear]
