noise on rear end of suzuki swift 2000

Hi all please help, my sister is the proud owner of a Suzuki Swift gls 2000 x reg, which she thinks is great, shes had this car since new with now problems, which is great cheap motoring,

There is a Knocking noise from the rear end (poss near side)
the noise is really loud when in side the car and can even be heard when you push down on the roof,

The noise is only made when you hit rough ground or drive over a bump in the road,

Any ideas???

Any help with this matter would be appreciated.

Sounds like a loose strut. Pull the strut tower cover off the inside of the car, and make sure it's still bolted in!! Also, check and make sure they're clamped down good to the lower knuckle. Check all the rear suspension bushings while your at it. Could be a bad swaybar link or bushing.
