Dakota Overheating V6

94 V6 dakota engine gets hot. The gauge goes all the way to the H after driving for 10-15 minutes. Never completly overheats but when I stop the overflow tank is bubbling. Also, the heater doesn't work. The heater hose going into the waterpump stays cold the other is hot. I replaced the waterpump, radiator, themostat, all hoses, fan clutch, and have plenty of antifreeze. Any other suggestions. This all started after I had a worn out water pump replaced.

The heater core must be plugged.

When mine was doing that it was the bypass hose down under the radiator and water pump, if its not the heater core, that could have been installed wrong.

Re: Dakota Overheating V6

Have seen older cars with coolant passages in the head blocked off with scaly rust deposits from neglected maintenance. If you're sure there is no air in the system that is what I would suspect.

Re: Dakota Overheating V6

Check the thermostat maybe installed backwards. remove thermostat start engine with radiator cap off look into radiator to see if water pump is pumping. Could be faulty thermostat,(stuck shut) or faulty water pump.
