Radio fuse keeps blowing off, 96 accord
I realized that my radio was not working (no power ) so I checked radio/cigarette lighter fuse and is was blown. So I used one of the spare fuses and started radio, guess what , no power. Again checked the fuse and it was gone.
So I think there is some sort of short most probably in cigarette lighter. Last think I remember doing was pulling a charger out of cigarette ligher. I need to put back the charger in the lighter socket and see whether the problem goes way. ( i have not done it yet since I don't have extra fuse left I need to get a few more of 15A fuses) Does anyone have any information about such shorts cigarette ligher connection or any other information on such problem? My Accord LX has standard pre-installed cassette player and radio. I have not used cassette for a while - only radio - I don't think that some thing in the cassette player could have gone wrong. So I strongly suspect cigarette lighter. Any help is appreciated.

I would say first check if the cigg lighter is working or not. Lets us know from there...

I have actually had a peice of metal dropped into the cigarette lighter and blew the fuse over and over till I tried to stick something in it and it started blowing sparks. Then I figured it out and fixed it. It wasn't as big of a deal because it wasn't tied in with the stereo too, but check for that.

Finally, I got a chance to get a new fuse and check my cigarette lighter.
Guess what, my charger's metal ring was in the lighter socket which was shorting the whole circuit. Removed the ring , put new fuse and everything is not working ! Thanks you all for your inputs !

how do you get the lighter out? I tried to pry the square plastic piece that it's in but was afraid I would break it. I'm wokring on a 96 accord also.
