2000 Cavaler won't start!!! HELP!!!

I was driving the car around town on my way home from work. I had the vent control in the off position while driving and turned the dial until it was on the front defrost and on the floor. The dash and the radio all turned off while the car is still running and come back on a second later. =) Fun eh? I get to my in laws and shut the car off. Later that night I try the automatic starter, doesn't work. THe tail lights came on and the car rolled over a couple times. I tried to unlock the doors with my remote and nothing. So I unlocked it with the key tried to start the car with the key and nothing. Then the lights came on and the dash came on then i tried to start the car again. It worked!! Hooray... I got home to the apatment and turned off the car. Eveything went black in the car. Normally the radio stays on until you open the door and the dome light comes on. Nothin.... So i tried to start the car thinking it's the battery(brand new) doesn't start (turns over) started on second try. Went back to work took a voltmeter to the battery and it's reading 12V or there abouts. So I turn the car off one more time and everything went black. Tried to start the car nothing, not even a peep. No lights, nothing....WHY!!???

Re: 2000 Cavaler won't start!!! HELP!!!

try taking off your battery terminals cleaning and reinstall. Then check for power in your fuse panel. You have to narrow down where the power is getting. It could be as simple as the lead on your starter.

Sounds like a bad ignition switch. There was a recall on those a while back.
