Hello, and Question...
Ok I've been searching for a while now and can't seem to get any acual numbers on this, hopefully you guys can help me out.
First a bit of back story, I've currently got a 93' Talon ES I picked up a few weeks ago for pretty cheap. This is not my first one of the first gen cars. I also own a 90' Plymouth Laser I aquired from a friend of mine that pretty much wasted the head due to being a horrible machanic. Anyway I'm planning to swap out the manual from the Laser into the Eagle (due to the fact that the auto in the Eagle is slipping) which I know how to do. My question is this... The engine in the Laser has the Cyclone intake on it. Does anyone have a figure on the HP and Tourge increase, if any, of dropping the Cyclone on my Talon. Basically is it worth my time to pull the intake and CPU and switch them in the car. I figure since I'm going to have it gutted to put in the manual tranny if I'm going to change Intakes now would be the best time.

Re: Hello, and Question...
The general consensus is that the 1g intake is better, unless you really take the time to make the cylcone intake work (proper switchover rpm/pressure/etc). I personally wouldnt waste the time. Hard to find numbers for it though, because few people run the clyclone intakes, fewer poeple dyno them, and even fewer (if anyone at all) have done a back to back comparison. Not sure this helps, but good luck.

Re: Hello, and Question...
Thanks I was having a lot of trouble finding any acual info on the subject. I did notice that the Laser had a bit more torque...but then again its a manual and my Auto is puking so thats probably 98% of it.
Also I might as well add this question and get it out of the way. Now I am planning to swap trannys for the fact that I just enjoy a manual more and I have a reason to do the swap other than I just feel like it. But maybe you guys can help me identify the problem with my Auto since I've never seen one acually do this before. What my tranny is doing isnt really a "slip" it just seems to randomly downshift. Say I'll be driving along fine in OD and it will just dump me into a lower gear and get hung there. My father used to be a mechanic and seems convinced it has something to do with the Power/Econo switch, since it does it more frequently in the power setting. But even if I dont bother the switch and I'm just driving it will randomly downshift. (Note: father is a V8 guy...so I dont take his word on 4 cylinders very much to heart.) Anyone encountered this problem before? And I've already flushed the tranny and put in a new filter so its not anything built up in it. And the flush didnt put out any metal so its not grinding anywhere.

Re: Hello, and Question...
And sorry my apoligies for putting this topic in the wrong forum. Didnt see the problem forum until about 5 min ago. My bad, will not happen again. If a mod wants to move this that would be cool.
