Type-S intake?

What is the difference between the JDM Type-S intake and the US or european stock intake? Iīm asking because all the stock intakes of other 5th gen Preludes Iīve seen seem to be different than mine. Mine is exactly looking like the JDM one and the engine came with a red valve cover stock. Thereīs a writing on the air box which says `TOYO ROKI MFG CO LTDī. Not that it would make any (real) difference but Iīm just curious about it and I donīt have got any idea.

The JDM Type-S intake is boxier and larger than the stock intake. When I had this intake, the Prelude felt more responsive on the low-end, and sounded "raspier" than the stock intake. Here's a schematic for comparison:

Mine is looking like the lower one. I forgot to mention ( ) that Iīve got an unmodified Accord Type-R engine in it (unmodified means 200hp instead of the 212hp of the ATR). Thatīs why I have got a red valve cover. It seems like the ATR/ Prelude Type-S intake systems have got the same design.

I guess you don't need to get the JDM version afterall.

Does that JDM intake make better low end power vs the AEM CAI? If so, how's the top end? Better than AEM too? If the answer is YES to both questions, HOW CAN I GET ONE?????

I didnīt want to get a JDM intake. I just wanted to know if mine has got the same style. But Iīd guess it has. And who else could say that he has got a ATR intake system on his Lude?

No dyno numbers for proof, but I'd say since I've owned a Type S intake, and now have the AEM CAI, the JDM intake had maybe a little better low end, but the AEM had far better top end. If I drove my car hard, I'm usually launching around 5000rpms anyways, negating any "supposed" lack of low end the AEM has.
