92 Integra 1.8 MPG

I just bought my girlfriend a 92 Integra 1.8L, 4 door, automatic. It runs pretty good, but it gets only about 220 miles to the tank. It seems like it should get better gas mileage than that, don't ya think? What do other teg's get for gas mileage? I did a tune up on the car and like I say it runs decent, maybe it has an O2 sensor or ECT problem or something?

Re: 92 Integra 1.8 MPG

I fill up around 220-230 and it looks kinda close to the E, on the freeway bringing my car home I once took the tank to about 317 miles doing 70-75 weighted down pretty good, and didnt have the light yet(not sure if the light works or not tho).

he way I drive around here though I have never actally calculated my city MPG cuz I know it will suck, its like theres a magnet on the floorboard that just loves to pull my gas pedal to WOT all the time. lol

but what all did you do on your tune up?

you should be getting better than that if you are driving itnormally, but if you are trying to get performance out of it that might be what youre gonna get.

25 city isn't bad for a gs-r especially the way i drive. Factory rating on my gs-r is 29 highway/ 24 city.

and i believe it is a 11.6 gallon tank. usually when i let it get low i wind up putting about 10.5 in so 250/10.5= 23.8 so considering i have 4 studded snow tires on it, let it idle for at least an hour a day, rev the shit out of it constantly and it has 170,000 miles on it i'd say being dead on factory spec is pretty damn good not low as you put it. i'm sure i could get about 27 city if i had all-season tires, didn't let it idle as much and kept the tach below 4000

And 94tegrs I don't think 2nd gens have a light.

Re: 92 Integra 1.8 MPG

oh I thought I remembered seeing it as the sun came into my window and hit the dash at the right angle, maybe not, looked like it was in the fuel guage itself to me. Ill look agaoin later maybe I was just halucinating from 40 hours of driving.

Re: 92 Integra 1.8 MPG

I get 350 with my manual 1.8L with updated maintenance. Auto should be much less like 250-300 hwy miles i'm guessing.

Re: 92 Integra 1.8 MPG

an auto shouldnt be MUCH less, of course it will omst likely be a little bit less but when you consider you only drop around 2-3MPG with an auto. and your cars getting between 25-30mpg,if you get 350 miles in the tank you should be around 315-325 in an auto. if youre getting only 250 while a manuals getting 350 thats like saying the manuals getting 30MPG an autos only gonna get 21MPG.

well i just filled up tonight on my way home from work. 10.8 gallons and 250 miles even. I got 23.something miles to the gallon this tank (city) but remember its also winter and I have studded snow tires on so this is about all i can expect for city. During the summer I get about 335 miles (highway) to 10.5 gallons so around 30 mpg highway

I'd have to say considering my car runs very nicely that if you are getting worse than this in an unmodified integra there is something wrong.

I looked up some figures and this is what I got for 2nd gen integras.

1.8L, 5spd, regular octane~ 25/31
1.8L, auto, regular octane~ 23/29
1.7L, 5spd, premium octane~ 24/29

Re: 92 Integra 1.8 MPG

hey, thanks for the replies. I drove the car this week and I get much better gas mileage than she does ... I'm starting to think it's not the car that gets bad mileage.
